Consolidated Hallmark Commits ₦40m to Education, Launches 13th Annual Insurance Essay Competition

Education meets innovation as Consolidated Hallmark Holdings Plc (CHH) officially unveils the 13th edition of its Annual Essay Competition, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to academic excellence and insurance development in Nigeria.

Since the initiative began in 2011, the company has invested over ₦40 million into the education sector—making the competition one of the most respected platforms for nurturing future insurance professionals and thought leaders.

More Than a Competition: Building the Future of Insurance

Far beyond prize money, the CHH Essay Competition has evolved into a powerful intellectual platform that:

  • Encourages critical thinking
  • Promotes research and innovation
  • Deepens awareness of insurance’s role in economic growth

This year’s edition raises the bar even higher with two distinct categories designed to spark both internal reflection and industry-wide conversation.

Employees are challenged to explore how company values shape:

  • Workplace behavior
  • Customer experience
  • Professional excellence

🔹 External Category (For Students)

  • Analyze how economic challenges affect insurance uptake
  • Propose practical, innovative solutions to improve financial protection in Nigeria

Leadership Speaks: Inspiring Bold Thinking

According to Group CEO Eddie Efekoha, the initiative is about more than academic exercise:

“Economic hardship is a lived reality… but within constraint lies creativity.”

He emphasized the need for evidence-based, forward-thinking ideas that can drive greater insurance adoption and household financial security.

Similarly, Mary Adeyanju, Managing Director of Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Limited, highlighted the competition’s role in bridging the gap between academia and industry:

“Sustainable growth in insurance requires ideas, research, and talent that understands the market.”
