Heirs Insurance rewards retirees with ₦5 million in grants through inaugural Retirement Dream Competition
Kayode Kolade, a 51-year-old former public servant from Rivers State, has emerged as the overall winner of the Heirs Insurance Group Retirement Dream Competition, receiving a ₦2.5 million cash grant to support his post-retirement aspirations. He is joined by two other senior citizens — 64-year-old Rakiya Idris, who won ₦1.5 million, and 60-year-old Sodeke Olusola, who received ₦1 million — as beneficiaries of the initiative aimed at empowering retirees and soon-to-retire Nigerians.
Heirs Insurance Group, Nigeria’s fastest-growing insurance group, announced the winners while unveiling the results of its inaugural nationwide competition designed to help older Nigerians turn long-held retirement dreams into reality.
Empowering Retirement Dreams Across Nigeria
Launched in August 2025, the Retirement Dream Competition featured a total prize pool of ₦5 million and was open to Nigerians aged 50 to 75. Participants were invited to submit a one-minute video sharing their retirement dreams and explaining how financial support would help them achieve those goals.
The initiative attracted hundreds of entries from across the country, with strong participation not only from major cities but also from rural communities. This broad engagement underscored the growing importance of retirement planning and financial security among Nigerians at every level.
