CIIN Partners with Sapphital Academy to Train 1 Million Nigerian Youths on Insurance

In a bold move to increase insurance awareness and build a skilled generation of insurance professionals, the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) has partnered with leading digital learning provider, Sapphital Academy, to train one million Nigerian youths.

This initiative aligns with the federal government’s youth empowerment and economic growth agenda, with support from the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) and the Federal Ministry of Youth Development.

As part of this landmark collaboration, CIIN and Sapphital Academy have launched a cutting-edge e-learning platform, exclusively designed to make insurance education accessible and engaging for young Nigerians.

The platform features:

  • 40 dynamic modules covering various aspects of insurance
  • Expert-led sessions from top industry professionals
  • Flexible access for learners across the country

This digital solution aims to empower Nigerian youths with the knowledge and tools to explore meaningful careers in the insurance industry.

CIIN President and Chairman of Council, Mrs. Yetunde Ilori, FIIN, hailed the project as a “historic achievement” that will impact generations to come. She commended the CIIN Secretariat for curating a platform driven by real-world industry expertise.

“This training platform is not just another learning tool—it’s a legacy that will remain for decades, helping shape Nigeria’s insurance landscape,” she stated.

Registrar/CEO of CIIN, Abimbola Tiamiyu, expressed gratitude to the Commissioner for Insurance, Mr. Olusegun Ayo Omosehin, FIIN, for his confidence in CIIN’s capacity to drive professionalism and transformation in the sector.

This massive training initiative also supports President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which includes strengthening Nigeria’s economy by promoting inclusive opportunities across industries—including insurance.

By equipping youths with insurance literacy and skills, this collaboration plays a crucial role in closing the talent gap in the insurance industry and boosting financial inclusion nationwide.
