A Lasting Legacy in the Insurance Industry
The Nigerian insurance community fondly remembers Buhari for recognizing and encouraging the contributions of industry operators, particularly during critical moments in the nation’s history.
Notably, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the former President acknowledged the insurance industry’s pivotal role in providing life insurance cover for frontline healthcare workers. In his national address on April 27, 2020, Buhari commended the sector for its proactive support of government efforts to protect those on the frontlines of the crisis.
His administration’s appreciation of the insurance industry’s contributions further cemented its relevance in national development and demonstrated the value of collaborative public-private sector partnerships in times of need.
As the nation mourns, the Nigerian insurance sector joins millions of Nigerians in celebrating a life of service and dedication.
