The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) on Tuesday said the insurance sector was set to hold its first Annual Insurance Retreat on Feb.19.
A statement by the Head, Corporate Affairs of NAICOM, Mr Rasaq Salami, said the retreat would chart a way for the revamping of the sector.
According to Salami, the retreat is scheduled to hold in Abeokuta, between Feb. 16 and Feb. 19.
The theme of the retreat is, “Growing the Industry through Innovation and Healthy Competition.’’
He said the retreat would provide an avenue to review the activities of the committee in 2016 and plan for 2017.
“It will provide an avenue to discuss ways to reposition the insurance industry for significant contribution to the economy.
“Participants would also discuss extensively on issues affecting the industry such as Risk Based Supervision, Compulsory Insurance, Annuity and New Channel for Insurance Distribution.
