SanlamAllianz Unveils National Essay & Storytelling Competition for Nigerian Youth

SanlamAllianz Nigeria, one of the country’s leading insurance brands, has just launched an exciting Essay & Storytelling Competition for Nigerian children aged 10 to 16 — and it’s more than just writing. It’s about confidence, creativity, and big dreams!

A Creative Space for Young Minds

This isn’t your average school writing contest. SanlamAllianz wants kids to imagine bold futures, tell their unique stories, and build confidence and life skills in a fun, gamified way.

In partnership with Africa Comicade, the company is calling on young Nigerians to submit either a short story or essay — sharing ideas, values, or personal dreams in the most creative way possible.

Win Big: Cash Prizes & National Recognition

Winners of the competition will receive:

  • Up to ₦200,000 in cash
  • SanlamAllianz-branded gift packs
  • National recognition and spotlight for their creative work

“It’s not just about writing — it’s about giving young people a platform to express themselves and believe in their own voice,” said Chris Ekwonwa, Head of Strategy, Marketing & Customer Relations at SanlamAllianz.

More Than Just Writing — It’s About Growth

The competition encourages young writers to explore themes like:

  • Confidence
  • Discipline
  • Purpose
  • Financial awareness

It also introduces kids to life lessons and soft skills they can carry with them into the future.

“Through storytelling, we want to spark bigger conversations around purpose and even financial literacy,” Ekwonwa added.
