Anchor Insurance MD, Dr. Ebose Augustine, Elected NIA Assistant Treasurer

The Managing Director and CEO of Anchor Insurance Company LimitedDr. Ebose Augustine Osegha, has been elected as the Honorary Assistant Treasurer of the Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA).

His election was confirmed during the association’s just-concluded elections held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, and he was formally introduced to members at the NIA’s 54th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Lagos on Thursday, June 26, 2025.

Before this appointment, Dr. Ebose served as a member of the NIA Governing Council, contributing actively to policy formulation and advocacy efforts for Nigeria’s insurance industry.

A Vision for Industry Growth

Reacting to his new role, Dr. Ebose expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him by fellow industry leaders and reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the NIA’s objectives.

“I am honoured to be elected as the Honorary Assistant Treasurer of our great association. I remain committed to contributing my quota to the growth of the NIA and the insurance industry at large,” he said.

Dr. Ebose, who has been leading Anchor Insurance as MD/CEO since February 2018, brings over two decades of experience in the insurance and financial services sector. Before becoming CEO, he served as Executive Director, Business Development and Marketing at Anchor Insurance, and previously as General Manager/Divisional Head at Standard Alliance Insurance Plc.

An accomplished scholar and professional, Dr. Ebose holds:

  • B.Sc. (Hons.) Economics, Delta State University
  • MBA, University of Ado-Ekiti
  • M.Res. in Business Administration (Management Research), University of Liverpool, UK
  • Ph.D. in Business Administration (Entrepreneurship & Small-Scale Business Management), Babcock University, Ogun State.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Administrators, a Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN), and serves on NAICOM’s Publicity and Communication Sub-Committee.

Dr. Ebose’s election underscores the growing recognition of his efforts in promoting insurance awareness, corporate governance, and innovation in Nigeria’s insurance sector. His leadership at Anchor Insurance has seen the company achieve notable milestones in customer service delivery and product innovation.

The NIA is confident that his expertise and dedication will further support its mission to strengthen the Nigerian insurance market and enhance public trust in the industry.
