AIICO Insurance Plc has reaffirmed its dedication to celebrating excellence, strengthening professionalism, and expanding insurance penetration in Nigeria during its annual Agency Retreat held in Ogun State.

The event brought together agency leaders, executives, and top-performing financial advisors to review industry developments, recognize outstanding performance, and reinforce the company’s growth strategy in Nigeria’s evolving insurance market.

AIICO Ready for a New Era of Insurance Regulation

Speaking during one of the executive sessions, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Babatunde Fajemirokun, highlighted the significant transformation currently taking place in the insurance industry.

According to him, the ongoing reforms represent the most important regulatory shift in over two decades, introducing stronger frameworks for:

  • Compliance and governance
  • Risk-based capital management
  • Digital transformation across the insurance sector

Fajemirokun emphasized that these reforms align closely with AIICO’s culture of discipline, innovation, and corporate governance.

He also assured stakeholders that the company is well positioned to lead in a more structured, technology-driven insurance environment.

Celebrating Outstanding Agency Performance

A major highlight of the retreat was the Awards Night, where AIICO celebrated its top-performing agency leaders and financial advisors for their exceptional contributions during the year.

Leading the pack was Mrs. Ego Uzochukwu, who emerged as the Overall Best-Performing Agency, improving from her second-place ranking in the previous year.

The other top performers included:

  • Mr. Henry Onwuchekwa – Second Place
  • Mr. Lawson Njoku – Third Place

The awards also honored the Top 10 agency leaders who successfully managed and mentored teams of financial advisors that generated billion-naira Gross Written Premiums (GWP) across multiple regions.

This achievement highlights the strength and impact of AIICO’s agency network in driving insurance adoption across Nigeria.

Resilience Despite Economic Challenges

Commending the agency teams, Fajemirokun praised their resilience and determination despite challenging economic conditions.

“In spite of macroeconomic headwinds, you have remained bold, undaunted, and committed to delivering outstanding results,” he said.

He added that the performance of the agency force reflects their professionalism, belief in AIICO’s value proposition, and determination to succeed in every market they serve.

Strengthening Insurance Penetration in Nigeria

The retreat also served as a platform to reinforce AIICO’s broader mission of deepening insurance awareness and penetration across the country.

Through its expanding agency network, digital innovation, and customer-focused solutions, AIICO continues to play a significant role in improving access to insurance products for individuals and businesses in Nigeria.

As the industry evolves with new regulatory frameworks and technological advancements, the company aims to empower its financial advisors to deliver greater value to customers nationwide.
