Equity Assurance settles N1 billion claims

Equity Assurance Plc has announced the settlement of almost 1 billion (N989. 335) in claims to her numerous customers from January to December 2015.

In doing this, the company has again demonstrated its commitment to prompt claims settlement in line with core values of excellent customer service, caring and integrity among others.

The breakdown of total claims paid for the period under review is as follows:
Fire – N302.297 million; Oil & Gas – N68.783 million; Engineering – N41.747 million;
Marine – N138.995 million; Group Accident – N139.096 million; Motor – N298. 417 million.

The Managing Director/CEO of the company, Dr Ekpe Ukpabio, stated that the company has lived up to her responsibility to customers better and faster than the position in 2014, when the sum of N847.184 million was paid out as claims settlement., an increase of 16.8 per cent compared to 2015.

According to him, with the recent injection of additional funds into the company by the SUNU Group, the company is well positioned to address any future claims request in a more professional and efficient way.
